Tilting at Windmills….

So, I got off work early this past Wednesday and headed south to Myrtle Beach. Erins family invited me down to sound a few days with them, which I graciously accepted. I had never been to Myrtle Beach before and was interested in seeing the area. Of course, i was also looking forward to spending time with Erin.

While down on the Grand Strand I managed to see Barefoot Landing, Broadway on the Beach, and a whole lot of beach. I didn’t spend too much time in the ocean, but enjoyed the water. I was actually able to body surf a bit! The first time in a while Ive been able to do that.

After a few days in MB Erin and I headed north to a wedding. After a miserable time getting to 95 on backroads, we finally ended up in Cary, NC outside of Raleigh. The wedding was fun and we got some great pics (sadly none in my iPad for this post). The next day though? A lloooonnnnnggggg ride home.

Overall? I’d go back to both. I dunno why, but i felt like putting this on my blog. Right now I’m riding back from Philly with Greeley after installing a new voicemail system, and he’s listening to Rosie ODonnell Radio on Sirius…. Yeah, no wonder I didn’t feel like paying attention to it haha.

So apparently it’s been 6 months since Erin and I’s first date. Strange to think of how things can progress over 6 months with many challenges in the way. I went down to Harrisonburg over the weekend to take her out. We went Local Chop and Grill House for an awesome dinner, and hung out with her friends afterwards. Woke up too early on Sunday to help her move out.

Meanwhile, 5 months since I started my attempt at a healthier TK, I’ve managed to lose 30 lbs. I’m still struggling with gym visits though. I was good for a bit, but the severe daily heat lately has made me feel more fatigued at the gym when I go after work. It’s harder to keep going like i I’d when I was about 3 months in. Very strange….

Meanwhile, 2 months after starting my second masters i’m into my second class and have received my grade from the first. I got an A in the first class, which is amazing considering how poorly I thought my group did compared to the other one. I suppose Dr. Salem saw the effort that was put in.

And now? My homework for the evening. Hope you’ve enjoyed the very late update.

I’ve graduated! It’s true, on Saturday I did the walk across the stage and join the ranks of the Hood alumni. Afterwards, the fam, Erin and I took some pictures on campus, and then went back home for the party. Got to see the family, and Erin handled them pretty well. After a few hours, she and I went out to Deb Kelly for her graduation party. Had a good time for an hour, but had to retire due to exhaustion.

Well, once i have some choice pics from the graduation on the iPad I’ll upload them. Until then, it will have to be on Facebook only.

So I got off early on Friday after starting at 6:30. Bryan and I rolled around Virginia taking care of jobs and figuring out others. Erin came into town that evening and we walked around Frederick before meeting up with Anjulie and heading down to Maggianos in Chevy Chase.

The next day I picked up Eric and we went on a multi hour trip, starting at the Air and Space Museum Dulles Annex, and then going to lunch at Pei Wei in Herndon. From there to Great Falls, VA for some wandering and then back in the car to head to Georgetown. Walked around there for a bit, then headed to Guitar Center to pick up strings for Mike N. Met with Erin again and headed to Monocacy aqueduct for a couple mile hike. Dropped off Eric, then Erin and I went to Mac Grill and got Italian for the second night in a row. Finished the night at Corinnes drinking a willamette Pinot and talking.

Sunday? Sunday is calm day. Wake up late and hang out around the house all day. Did some shopping and also helped Josh in the yard for a bit. Went up to Erins for the evening, and got home to prep for the week. great weekend

Now for the good news? Gotta text from Jason this AM that the grades were up. Gotta B in the class. So Im graduating. Whoo hoo.

Thank goodness for the jail broken iPhone. Since climbing in the van this AM, I turned on MyWi and started to go back and answer emails that have been sent during the last few days of my project that I willfully ignored.

I also signed up for ToodleDo. I recently got Evernote to sync my notes to the cloud, now I’m trying to keep my to-do list in the cloud. Tonight I may try to get my address book synced between gmail and mobile me. I also have to wait until I’m at my notebook to sign up for the newMobileMe beta.

It’s kind of interesting thinking that I will have so much of my info in other peoples computer. I normally would complain, but i suppose I just got complacent about it and realized I don’t care who sees my to-do list, or what information I need to put into a paper.

Oh well. Back on topic, the iPad with mobile connectivity is definitely awesome. Getting plenty done and being able to do so without relying on a charger = very nice.

I’m sitting in Wags right now having a water and waiting on my burger to arrive. It’s 1:00 pm and I just had my paper printed. There’s no turning back now. I was a little worried this am when I got to Starbucks and was having difficulty with the table of contents. But, after some working I got it done, and the day flowed from there. I still wasn’t able to put certain things into the paper, but i needed to be sure it was printed and ready to go by 5. Well, a few hours early, and no more worrying. The chips will fall where they may. In the meantime, its lunch time.

18 hrs until i walk into the class room to turn in the paper. I’ll have some stats to put up here shortly before then. But, for now, i must sleep…

So mom dragged Angela, Josh, and j to a party with all her friends. Nice people? Yes. 30 years older than Angela Josh and I? Oh yeah. Gonna be a long 90 minutes.

I’m in the library now, attempting to achieve some semblance of completion before beginning paper construction and final source citation. I’m bored out of my mind and listening to the wind beat on the windows beside me. Its going to be a boring day
